Closing the app is ineffective, and I have searched through
every option available on the app to no avail. Is it impossible to
sign out, or am I missing something crucial here?
Again, closing the app via the home screen does not work.
Someone let me know if there is a way, or if this is some terrible
fault in the app that needs attention.

I think it's common for iOS and Android apps to just go into the
background when you go do something else, and not actually
On Android the solution is to use one of the many "task killer"
apps available for that platform, I imagine there is something
similiar either built-in to iOS, or available as an add-on.
Though I will say that the latest iteration of the Android app
now does seem to have an explicit "do you want to exit" dialogue
box, which wasn't there before, and seems to actually "close" when
you do what you would think is exiting the app. (In Android that's
the "back" key, pressed several times if necessary, which
ultimately results in the "do you want to exit" dialogue-box. If
I'm not mistaken that's the same function that the button under the
screen does in iOS, yes? Or does that just take you back to the
